GEWasher • Model GTW500ASN0WS

Reported issue: The customer reported that their top-load washer was not filling with enough water during the wash cycle. When the washer was loaded with a larger amount of laundry, the unit frequently went into an out-of-balance condition and failed to complete the cycle properly.

Diagnosis: During the diagnostic inspection, it was found that the suspension spring rods were worn out, which was contributing to excessive movement of the tub and causing balance issues during operation. Using the manufacturer’s service documentation and running the unit in service mode, the technician verified that the water level (pressure) sensor was operating correctly and responding as expected. Based on these findings, it was determined that the issue with low water fill under heavy loads was related to a faulty accelerometer (speed/load sensor). This sensor is responsible for detecting the load size and allowing the control board to calculate the correct water level for each cycle

Solution: The technician replaced the worn suspension spring rods to restore proper tub stability and eliminate the out-of-balance condition. Additionally, the accelerometer (speed/load sensor) was replaced to ensure accurate load detection and correct water level adjustment during wash cycles. After completing the repairs, the washer was fully tested under normal operating conditions. The unit filled with the correct amount of water, remained stable during operation, and no further issues were observed. Warranty for labor and patrs - 90 days

Recommendations: Avoid overloading the washer to reduce stress on suspension components. Distribute laundry evenly in the drum before starting a cycle.
