SAMSUNG • Dryer • Model DV42H5200EP
Reported issue: The customer reported that the dryer was not heating and clothes were coming out cold and still damp after a full drying cycle.
Diagnosis: During the diagnostic visit, the technician performed a full inspection of the dryer. Power supply was tested at the terminal block and confirmed to be within normal range. Airflow was checked while the dryer was running, and abnormal vacuum pressure inside the drum indicated a restriction in the home ventilation system. Additionally, key internal components of the Samsung dryer were inspected, including the heating circuit and safety sensors.
Solution: The inspection revealed a burned-out heating element, caused by restricted airflow and excessive heat buildup due to lint accumulation. Repair Performed Replaced the failed heating element Replaced all 4 temperature and safety sensors Performed a full vacuum cleaning of the internal cabinet Cleaned lint buildup from the dryer ventilation system After the repair, the dryer was tested and confirmed to be heating properly and operating within manufacturer specifications. Warranty for labor and parts - 90 days
Recommendations: The customer was advised to clean the lint filter after every drying cycle to maintain proper airflow, prevent overheating, and extend the life of the heating components.
